The State Commission established in connection with the fire in the Drug Center
Baku / 02.03.18 / Turan: By the order of the head of state, a state commission was set up in connection with the fire in Narcological center in Baku. The vice-premier Abid Sharifov was appointed the head of the commission, the website of the president. In its composition: the ministers of internal affairs, the Ministry for Emergency Situations, the State Security, Health, Finance, the Prosecutor General, as well as the mayor of Baku and the head of the Khatai district Executive Power. The commission was charged with determining the causes of the fire that killed 25 people and eliminating its consequences, as well as bringing to justice the perpetrators of the incident. Provide material support to the families of the dead and wounded, provide treatment for the victims, and carry out the necessary work for the construction of the new building of the Drug Center. -02D-

European observers are creating "distrust" between Baku and Brussels, stated President Ilham Aliyev on Monday during the presentation of credentials by the new Belgian ambassador, Julien de Frepon. Aliyev emphasized that the "binocular diplomacy" of the European monitoring mission is unacceptable and contributes to distrust in Azerbaijan's relations with the European Union. He questioned the necessity of extending the mission and increasing its numbers without consulting Baku.

Afgan Sadigov, the founder of the Azerbaijani website Azel TV, collapsed in a prison hospital in Georgia while on the 24th day of his hunger strike. His wife, Sevinc Sadigova, reported this, stating that he fell unconscious while trying to drink water and woke up to find doctors around him.
