The trial in the case of Khadija Ismayilova postponed to September 24
Baku/19.09.13/Turan Consideration in the case of journalist Khadija Ismayilova scheduled for Thursday in Binagadi district court was postponed to September 24 , according to lawyer, Anar Gasymly.
The postponement was because Ismaylova could not come to the trail as she will come from Prague in the evening on September 19 evening.
The lawsuit is not related to non execution by Ismaylova administrative punishment in the form of community service for 220 hours, because of her refusal to pay AZN 400 fine for participation in uncoordinated protests on January 26 in Baku.
The journalist believes that the fine she was appointed illegally because she was realizing her constitutional right to freedom of assembly. On June 10 it was replaced by a penalty of community service in the form of sweeping streets, and Ismaylova agreed with this , stating that execution of the sentence will turn into an action under the slogan "Let's clean the country of filth." After that, the sweeping was replaced by cleaning work at the center for the rehabilitation of disabled persons.
However, Ismailova refused to execute the sentence in the closed institution in order to avoid provocation.
Now Ismaylova can be imprisoned for three months for non-enforcement administrative penalties.-16D-
