The Venice Commission will assess the amendments to the Constitution
The CE Venice Commission will publish a week before the referendum on September 26 in Azerbaijan its draft opinion on the constitutional amendments to the Constitution. "The text of the conclusion will be discussed and approved at the plenary session of 14-15 October," RIA Novosti was told in the Venice Commission.
Earlier, the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe urged the Venice Commission to check and assess the relevance of the proposed changes to the standards and requirements of the Council of Europe.
PACE Bureau took this step after the Azerbaijani authorities refused to send to the expertise of the Venice Commission's proposed changes to the Constitution. -02D-
