There is no sensation: 4 billion tons of oil and 6 trillion cubic meters of gas in Azerbaijan is unconfirmed data
Baku/18.09.19/Turan: Confirmed oil reserves in Azerbaijan amount to 1.45 billion tons. Another 2 billion tons of condensate oil is projected, yet unproven reserves. The first vice president of SOCAR, Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh, told Turan, commenting on his statement today about the presence of 4 billion tons of oil in the country.
"3.5 billion is almost 4 billion," the first deputy president of SOCAR said.
As for gas, the country's proven reserves are 2.6 trillion cubic meters, another 3.3 trillion are forecast reserves," he said.
On September 18, official media, citing Yusifzadeh, reported about 4 billion tons of oil and 6 trillion proven cubic meters of gas in Azerbaijan. He stated this at a meeting in the office of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, speaking at a conference on energy issues.
This sensational statement surprised experts who refuted Yusifzadeh"s words, explaining his fantasies by an advanced age.
It is noteworthy that the official media did not clarify the published data. -03D06--
