Three policemen and one civilian killed while detaining perpetrator
In the early morning of 24 June in Shuvalan settlement near Baku, previously convicted Allahverdiyev Rovshan (born 1986) put up armed resistance.
Covering himself with members of his family, Allahverdiyev opened fire with a Lancaster hunting rifle, killing three policemen and one civilian, the Interior Ministry and the General Prosecutor's Office said in a joint statement.
Allahverdiyev was killed in retaliatory fire, a criminal case has been opened and an investigation is underway.
