Turkey and Azerbaijan will join the Georgian-US military exercises
Tbilisi/02.04.13/Turan-BS PRESS: Turkey and Azerbaijan can join a joint Georgian-US military exercise in 2014, the Georgian Defense Minister, Irakli Alasania, said the Georgian media on April 2.
According to him, the Georgian defense ministry next year plans to conduct military exercises at the level of teams "that will help our military to solve large and complicated problems, and improve their combat readiness."
"In this regard, we are in negotiations, especially with the American side. Presumably, the countries of the region will join these military exercises. We do not conceal that we have a special military cooperation with Turkey and Azerbaijan. We are having tripartite dialogue, and carried out joint staff exercises. Accordingly, we assume that if the geography of the participants expands, first of all, it will affect the two countries," Alasania said.
Assessing the joint Georgian-American military exercises Agile Spirit 2013, which ended on Monday, the Georgian Defense Minister said that these exercises have brought Georgia and NATO.
" The exercises were conducted on the level of the battalions. They were special, because jointly with the United States a joint headquarters was created, and they conducted these operations. Accordingly, the joint staff exercises have deepened the cooperation with our American partners and NATO," said the minister.
The joint Georgian-American military exercises Agile Spirit 2013, which began on March 11, was attended by 350 troops the US Marine Corps and the 23rd Battalion of the Second Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Georgia. -02D-
