Twenty-four Years of Truce in Karabakh
Baku / 12.05.18 / Turan: On May 12, 24 years have passed since the conclusion of the truce in Karabakh between the Armenian and Azerbaijani forces.
The truce was reached by the statements of the parties on the ceasefire, which received the name "Bishkek Protocol". At the same time, a working group on Nagorno-Karabakh was established in the OSCE structure.
After that, a major violation of the ceasefire occurred once - in early April 2016. During the fighting, Azerbaijani forces liberated about 2 thousand hectares of territory in the north and south of Karabakh. At the same time, both sides suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment. -05B-
