Ukrainian MPs call on the EU and the USA to impose sanctions against Yanukovych
Kiev/02.11.13/Turan : Extraordinary sessions of regional councils will be held in half of the regions of Ukraine because of the situation in the country. The main question at the sessions will be "On the socio-political situation in Ukraine." Sessions will be held by the regional councils Kharkov, Lugansk, Donetsk, Odessa , Vinnitsa , Cherkassy, Poltava , Kiev, Nikolayev, Dnepropetrovsk, and Kirovograd, according to Rosbalt .
In addition, extraordinary sessions of Verkhovna Rada of Crimea will meet in Simferopol, according to the "Ukrainian Truth" .
"Shameful actions of state power have lost their healthy sense. Bloody dispersal by the armed representatives of the state the peaceful assembly of people in Ukraine, in the heart of Europe, should be regarded not only as a violation of human rights , but as a crime," reads the statement of the Ivano-Frankovsk regional council .
In addition, MPs called on the EU and the USA to impose sanctions against Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and members of the government. A general strike is planned for December 2 in Lvov, said the head of the Lvov regional council Peter Kolodiy, "Interfax -Ukraine" reported.
Meanwhile, the authorities are preparing to introduce in Ukraine a state of emergency. Today rallies against the Ukrainian authorities continue in the center of Kiev .
