UNESCO will send a mission to the liberated territories
Baku/09.04.21/Turan: The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has been resolved; Azerbaijan resolved it by implementing the resolutions that have remained on paper for almost 30 years, President Ilham Aliyev said today at a meeting with the President of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly Volkan Bozkyr ...
According to him, “the conflict has already remained in history. Now a new period has begun - a period of creation, a period of restoration. This has already started, and we are in close contact with all UN structures, including UNESCO. On the basis of the negotiations held with UNESCO, it is planned to send a mission,” Aliyev said.
At the same time, he recalled that all these years Azerbaijan has repeatedly appealed to UNESCO with a request to send a fact-finding mission to the occupied territories in connection with the destruction of historical, religious and cultural monuments.
“Unfortunately, during the conflict, our proposal remained unanswered, but after the conflict, a mission is now expected to be sent. We welcome this. Because on the liberated lands there is an Armenian atrocity, vandalism. The more international organizations see this with their own eyes, the wider the world community will have about the conflict, occupation by Armenia,” Aliyev said.
He stressed that the UN, as a leading world structure, should be active in the post-conflict period as well. — 06D-
