US Ambassador to Armenia believes that the status of Karabakh has not been resolved
Baku/19.05.22/Turan: The US Ambassador to Armenia Lynn Tracy, in an interview with Armenpress, spoke in favor of a comprehensive settlement of all issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“The US position is as follows: the issue of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh remains unresolved, and there is no military solution to the conflict. The right of peoples to self-determination is a key factor, but not the only internationally recognized principle for achieving a comprehensive peace,” she said.
Washington is convinced that a comprehensive solution must be based on internationally recognized principles of territorial integrity, self-determination of peoples and the non-use of force. In this context, the United States recognizes the role of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh in determining its future, the diplomat noted, calling for the release of all prisoners and strengthening the collection of information about missing servicemen.
She believes that the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia should take place without being linked to the negotiations on Nagorno-Karabakh. -02D-
