U.S. Sends Additional Security Assistance To Ukraine
Washington D.C./30.08.23/Turan: The United States on Tuesday announced a new $250 million security aid package for Ukraine, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.
The package includes additional air defense missiles, artillery ammunition, Javelin systems and rockets, mine-clearing equipment and other equipment, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement.
The U.S. will also be supplying ambulances "spare parts, services, training, and transportation," Blinken added.
"Russia started this war and could end it at any time by withdrawing its forces from Ukraine and stopping its brutal attacks," the Secretary noted. "Until it does, the United States and our allies and partners will stand united with Ukraine, for as long as it takes.
With the latest round of equipment and weapons, total U.S. assistance since last year amounts to more than $43 billion.
The Pentagon, in a separate statement, pledged on Tuesday that it "will continue to work with its Allies and partners to provide Ukraine with capabilities to meet its immediate battlefield needs and longer-term security assistance requirements."
