A special Vatican envoy for the South Caucasus, the nuncio Marek Solchinski was in Azerbaijan on 15-17 May to discuss the program and agenda of the forthcoming visit of the Pope Francis to Baku. This was reported by a representative of the Roman Catholic Church Vladimir Fekete. In particular, Solchinski met with the head of the Caucasus Muslims Department Allahshukur Pashazade, and the officials of Azerbaijan, discussed the program of the visit, which is scheduled for October 2nd. -03D-

On February 6, 2025, the Khatai District Court of Baku decided to place journalist Shahnaz Beylyargizi under arrest for three months and 15 days. According to lawyer Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, Beylyarghizi has been charged with the same accusations as the previously arrested journalists and activists in the Toplum TV case. However, Beylyargizi is being prosecuted in a separate case.
