The lawyer calls on the Ombudsman to visit the youth activists who have been tortured
The lawyer Elchin Sadigov appealed to Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova with the request to visit in the detention center in Kurdakhani his clients, youth activists Giyasov Ibrahimov, and Bayram Mamedov were tortured in the police office.
According to Sadigov, the two young men from the moment of arrest on May 10, and their transfer to the jail of the Penitentiary Service at 15:00on May 13 were sequentially subjected to severe torture and insane, degrading and inhuman treatment.
"Despite the fact that I have asked the issuance of copies of records by security surveillance cameras installed inside and in the courtyard of the Narimanov Police Office, I received no response," said the lawyer. On May 16 the lawyer saw in jail signs of violence on the bodies of Ibrahimov and Mamedov.
"After the traces of violence were shown to staff of the jail they promised to call a doctor for examination. In addition, traces of violence saw even other lawyers who were there. Despite the expiry of the sixth day after the decision of Khatai Court to investigate facts of torture, the prosecutor has not met either with me or with young people," Sadigov said.
In view of the above mentioned, the lawyer immediately asked the Ombudsman to meet with his participation in jail with Ibrahimov and Mammadov, and examine them from shooting on pictures and videos. Ibrahimov and Mamedov were detained on May 10 after they wrote graffiti on the monument to Heydar Aliyev: "Happy slaves" and "Down with the system." At the same time young people are accused of large scale drug trafficking.-06D-
