Visit of Georgian Prime Minister to Baku
Baku / 30.08.18 / Turan: The Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze started an official visit to Baku on August 30.
On the same day, he met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Both leaders made statements, the official statement said.
Before his flight to Baku, Bakhtadze told reporters: "We will consider very important new directions in terms of regional cooperation and also those initiatives that will help further deepen and increase our trade relations.
Ultimately, this will positively affect the economic growth of our country and our main goal - the transformation of Georgia into a regional hub," he said.
As expected, the Prime Minister of Georgia will also meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart Novruz Mammadov, as well as with the Chairman of Milli Mejlis Oktay Asadov.
Azerbaijan today is one of the largest trading partners of Georgia. The trade turnover between the countries last year amounted to about 882 million US dollars. -02D-
