Visit to NATO by the President of Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani side rejected the Armenian side's proposal for a Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting in London, within the framework of the European Political Community summit. This was announced on July 18 by the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ani Badalyan.

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with the UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs David Lemmy within the framework of the European Political Community Summit in Woodstock.

The Azerbaijani side claims that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan refused to meet with President Ilham Aliyev in London. This was reported to the local media by Azerbaijani Presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev. According to him, the British side proposed to hold a bilateral meeting.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, currently in the United Kingdom for the 4th Summit of the European Political Community, met with Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden in Oxford. The meeting, initiated at Luxembourg's request, comes against a backdrop of strained relations between the two countries.
