Wages of a group of high-ranking military border services increased
Baku/16.08.19/Turan: The head of state issued a decree on conferring the highest military ranks to service members of the State Border Service (GPS).
Major Generals Abbas Khalilov and Ehram Hajiyev became Lieutenant Generals.
Colonel Ramin Bagirov became a major general.
Captains of the first rank Abbas Giyasov and Ziyad Agayev were awarded the title of Rear Admiral.
The president also signed the assignment of honorary titles to the group of military and civil servants of the State Border Service and the award of state awards to them.
Presidential orders are timed to the professional holiday of border guards, celebrated on August 18.
On August 18, 1919, the Parliament of the Azerbaijan People's Republic adopted a law on the protection of the country's borders. This year the border troops of the country celebrate a centenary. -06D-

During the 11th meeting of the border delimitation commissions between Azerbaijan and Armenia on January 16, the directions for the delimitation process were determined, the State Commission of Azerbaijan on Border Delimitation and Demarcation with Armenia reported. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Ministers Shahin Mustafayev of Azerbaijan and Mher Grigoryan of Armenia.

Ramil Eynaliev, an activist from the Lankaran branch of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PPFA), has been administratively arrested for 30 days on charges of "disobeying the police." According to the PPFA, Eynaliev was detained the day before and taken to the third police station of the Khazar district in Baku. The party believes that the true reason for his arrest is a critical comment he made on social media.
