Well-known Lawyer Elton Guliyev Dead
One of the best lawyers in the country's 59-year-old Elton Guliyev died from a severe illness last night.
Guliyev was born in Agdam on February 29, 1956.
A graduate of the Law Faculty of Baku State University, he worked for many years investigating at the Interior Ministry, and the Chief of the Investigation Office of the Police Department of Baku.
Since 1992, Guliyev joined the bar, and soon became one of the most sought-after lawyers.
He was a lawyer on numerous high-profile criminal cases of public and political figures, journalists and government officials. In particular, he defended the rights of the former Economy Minister Farhad Aliyev and his brother Rafig Aliyev, the public activists Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizadeh, the lawyer Intigam Aliyev, the activists of the youth movement NIDA, and the journalists Khadija Ismailova and Seymour Hazi.
The funeral ceremony of Elton Guliyev will begin on December 16 at 14:00 in the Taza Pir Mosque. He will be buried in the old cemetery of Yasamal. -03B-
