Why Is It So Difficult to Get Visa at Italian Embassy?
Baku / 08/08/19 / Turan: Citizen Raul Aliyev appealed to the Turan agency with a complaint about the Italian Embassy in Baku, where they delay the response to visa applications from citizens and do not respond within 10 calendar days, as it should be. Moreover, passports are returned to citizens much later.
According to Aliyev, the Italian Embassy does not comply with the requirements of paragraph 1 of Article 7 of the Agreement between Azerbaijan and the EU, according to which a decision on the issuance of visas must be made within 10 calendar days after receipt of the application.
Visa applications and documents are accepted by the Italian Visa Center (VisaMetric).
"In the Center, citizens are not provided with reasonable answers. They answer that this issue does not depend on them and that they should contact the Italian Embassy.
It"s not possible to reach the Embassy, they don"t answer the phones, and when you get there they don"t accept you," Aliyev writes.
In turn, in VisaMetric Turan was stated that the complaint is not substantiated and the time for consideration of applications is not 10 days. "Answers can be answered 1 day before the expiration of a 30 day period. Someone's appeals can be considered quickly, someone's late. As for passports, they are presented to the Italian Embassy and stored there," the Center said.
The Italian Embassy told the Turan correspondent that delays in considering visa applications are associated with a large number of them. Moreover, in addition to tourist Schengen visas, there are still many applications for study visas.
In addition, passports and other documents are received through the VisaMetric Center and returned back, which also takes time.
"But, in any case, visa applications are considered before the departure date," the representative of the Embassy said. -06D--
