Yerevan does not know whether Baku is ready to sign a peace treaty
Baku/24.11.23/Turan: Azerbaijan has not yet confirmed its readiness to sign a peace treaty based on the principles proposed by Yerevan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stated on Friday answering questions from citizens live.
"It is not yet clear whether Azerbaijan agrees to sign a peace treaty with Armenia based on three principles," Pashinyan said. They were agreed upon during a trilateral meeting with the participation of Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev and Charles Michel. In particular, the talk is about the recognition of the territorial integrity of Armenia (29.8 sq. km.) and Azerbaijan (86.6 sq. km.).
The second principle is that the Alma-Ata Declaration should serve as the political basis for the delimitation of the border. And for delimitation , maps of the USSR General Staff of 1974-1990 should be used. The third principle is that regional communications should be open on the basis of respect for the sovereignty and competence of countries, as well as reciprocity. According to the Prime Minister, conclusions can be made after the meeting of the two delimitation commissions on November 30.
Yerevan and Baku confirmed the meeting of the commissions on the delimitation of the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan on November 30 at the border of the two countries. Where exactly this meeting will take place was not reported. Previous meetings of representatives of the two countries most often took place on the border of Gazakh and Ijevan. -02D-
