Baku/17.03.22/Turan: Over the past day, 99 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Azerbaijan, 315 people have recovered, 8 have died, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers said on March 17.
In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 791,176 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected, 780,302 people have been cured, 9,641 have died, and the number of active patients is 1,233.
Over the past day, 5,677 tests for COVID-19 have been carried out in the country.—06B-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
