A group of poachers arrested for massive tree cutting
Baku/16.02.22/Turan: Members of a group engaged in deforestation in the Astara and Lerik regions of Azerbaijan were detained during an operation by employees of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Ecology. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, facts of cutting down oak and beech trees aged 100-150 years have been revealed in the indicated territory.
During the operation, Sardar Ganjiev and Sarhad Fatullayev, residents of the Astara region, and six more members of the criminal community were detained. In fact, a criminal case has been launched in the GUBOP. Measures are being taken to detain other members of the organized group.-05D06-.
