A PFPA activist has declared a hunger strike in prison
Baku/29.12.23/Turan: The court extended the term of arrest of Elbai kerimli, a member of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) for another 20 days.
During the trial, which took place on December 28, Kerimli said that in protest against criminal prosecution, he had started a hunger strike in a pre-trial detention center a day earlier, the PFPA reported. Kerimli has been out of touch since August. Two months later, it became known that he was arrested on drug charges.
The young man has no parents and therefore his party colleagues could not clarify his fate. The PFPA believes that the young man is being persecuted on the basis of a false accusation for political reasons.-06B-
