Action in support of Ukraine in Baku
Baku/25.02.21/Turan: Activists of the Movement "Democracy - 1918" (D18) held a rally on Friday in front of the Ukrainian Embassy in Baku. They expressed support for the people of Ukraine in the conflict with Russia.
“Russia encroached on the territorial integrity of Ukraine by starting a war against this country. Russia has always pursued an occupational and exploitative policy towards neighboring states. A few years ago, it occupied part of neighboring and fraternal Georgia, and now it wants to seize the whole of Ukraine, said the head of the organization, Ahmed Mammadli.
The protesters demanded that Russia abandon its imperial policy, recognize the sovereignty of Ukraine and withdraw its troops from the country. At the end of the action, its participants chanted: "Glory to Ukraine!" The action ended without incident. -21C-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.
