Action of Collecting Books for Political Prisoners
Baku / 23.12.18 / Turan: A campaign was held on collecting books for political prisoners yesterday. It was organized by the Working Group on drawing up a single list of political prisoners.
The rally was attended by leaders of opposition parties, public figures, activists, and citizens.
Hundreds of books were collected and will be handed over to political prisoners through their families, said a member of the Working Group, a journalist Khadija Ismayilova.
This structure was established in 2014.
In the last report of the working group, published on September 1, the names of 128 persons were included in the list of political prisoners. Cases of two more people were taken under monitoring.
The authorities of Azerbaijan deny the existence of political prisoners in the country. -06D--

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.

During the operation of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 5 members of an organized group engaged in drug trafficking were detained. All of them have previous convictions: Bahlul Ismayilov, Royal Aliyev, Khayal Aliyev, Samir Aghayev, and Ali Mammadli.
