Activity of 4 lawyers suspended
Baku / 07.09.18 / Turan: Presidium of the Bar of Azerbaijan suspended the activity of 4 lawyers, reads the message of the Board on September 7. According to the same source, presidium examined 24 disciplinary proceedings. Based on the results of the discussions, measures of disciplinary punishment were taken against seven lawyers for violating the norms of professional ethics. One lawyer was put in sight, two defenders were reprimanded. In addition, decisions were made to suspend the activities of 4 lawyers. They are punished for providing legal assistance without concluding a treaty, violating the right to protection and obstructing fair justice. The names of punished lawyers are not named. Over the past 9 months, the Bar has suspended the powers of a number of lawyers famous for the active civic position - Yalchin Imanov, Irada Javadova, Asabali Mustafayev, Nemat Kerimli, Fahraddin Mehdiyev, and others. Prior to that, well-known lawyers Khalid Bagirov, Alaif Hasanov, Namizad Safarov, Muzaffar Bakhyshov and others were also excluded from the Collegium. Advocate Fuad Agayev was reprimanded. The authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor General's Office initiated proceedings against lawyers. -06D--
