Administration of "Icherisheher" denied reports of damage to the walls of the ancient Baku fortress
Baku/25.04.19/Turan: The Icheri Sheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve Office made an official comment in connection with the dissemination of media reports about new development in the historical part of the capital, during which the walls of the ancient Baku fortress were damaged. Messages were accompanied by photos from social networks. However, according to the commentary of the administration of the reserve, the photographs "do not reflect the work carried out at the moment on the territory", but were taken in the past and the bricks and other materials displayed on them are not connected with the fortified walls. At present, structures with supports made of light metals are being created on this territory. Moreover, there is no reconstruction work right next to the city walls. The created supports are installed at a distance of 1.5 meters from the monument. information on the construction of new restaurants is also refuted. "The restaurants in the territory functioned before, and the goal of this project is to update their appearance, to create more high-quality, presentable buildings. In the course of this work, expansion and adaptation to the modern requirements of restaurant terraces are planned. Information in social networks and some sites about the damage to the fortress walls is unfounded," the report further notes. -06D--
