Amendments to the law will serve to make information secret - expert
Baku / 13.06.18 / Turan: Amendments to the law "On receiving information", submitted for approval by the country's parliament, serve not transparency, but rather the closure of state structures, Turan wastold by an expert in the field of media, Khalid Agaliyev. Thus, the Article 29 of this law will list the information that government agencies are required to display on their website.
Information owners should publish annual reports on their financial activities, information on funds received from the state budget, obtained from the use of property.
However, the proposed amendment means that now state structures will disclose information in the order that the executive authority will establish.
The law now allows to publish information on the websites of government agencies. The proposal to empower the executive power to establish the order of disclosure of information will give grounds for concealing information. Such fears are aggravated by the fact that the majority of state structures, in violation of the law, do not disclose information on the use of budgetary funds and on finances. -06B-
