ANAMA: 2,863,552 square meters were cleaned of mine in April
In April ANAMA (National Agency for Mine Action) conducted cleaning work and defused mines and unexploded ordnance at the territory covering 2,863,552 square meters.
In particular, 1255 unexploded ordnance and 14 antitank mines were found; two facts of blowing up on mines were registered.
In the operations were involved 484 professionals and 118 support staff, as well as six mine searching mechanical cars and 36 specially trained dogs were used.
Up to date ANAMA cleared of mines 223,322,446 square meters of land by defusing 680,689 mines and unexploded ordnance.
The Agency continues clearance operations in Agdam, Agstafa, Agjabadi, Fuzuli, Barda, and Tartar regions, in Kirdag mud volcanoes in Absheron and the village of Guzdek, in the Garadagh district of Baku.—06C--

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
