The day before Baku Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal of ANS TV against the decision of the National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) to revoke the channel’s license.
Recall that NTRC suspended the broadcasting by the channel on 18 July. ANS was accused of violating the law, which was expressed by its "support for terrorism" and "hatred".
On July 29 Baku Court of Appeal upheld the NTRC claim and canceled the license of ANS TV.
On September 21, the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan upheld the decision.
ANS filed a lawsuit against NTRC with the Baku Administrative-Economic Court №1, demanding to invalidate the decision of 18 July. The suit was dismissed. Yesterday the Baku Court of Appeal upheld that decision, rejecting the complaint from ANS. -06D--
