Arrested Journalist’s Wife Holds Solitary Rally
Baku / 19.06.20 / Turan: The spouse of the arrested founder of the Azel TV news site, Afghan Sadigov, Sevinj Sadigova, held a protest rally in front of the Anti-Corruption Office under the Attorney General.
She protested against the lack of information about her husband’s detention facility and the failure to provide telephone conversations and meetings with him.
Sadigova stood in the middle of the road, trying to block it and urging passersby to join her.
She hoisted a poster: “I want justice from my state! Justice to the laws! Justice to the court!” Persons in civilian clothes invited her to clear the road. Ultimately, she was invited to the management building.
Recall that Sadigov was detained on May 13, and the Binagadi court arrested him for 4 months on charges of extortion by threats.
According to the investigation, Sadigov was detained together with the editor of the publication Xəbərfakt.az Sakit Muradov red-handed while receiving a bribe of 10 thousand manat.
Recall that Afghan Sadigov is known for his scandalous publications about involving a minor in prostitution by a policeman, the involvement of religious leaders in the drug mafia, corruption in the executive branch of the city of Sumgait, etc.
He was previously convicted for criticizing officials of the Jalilabad region. - 03B06-
