At the trial in the case of Ali Gyulalyev a witness refused to testify

   On Friday 3 October  the Khatai District Court chaired by Bakhtiyar Mammadov started a judicial investigation  in the case  of 17-year-old Ali Gyulalyev, the son of a human rights activist Oktay Gyulalyev. He is charged with disorderly conduct. In particular, he was charged with involvement in the fight  on September 20, 2013 at the school N165 in the village of NZS where he studied.  A victim in this case  is a student of this school, Bayram Sultanli.   At  today’s trial a victim and his legal representative were absent, and only a witnesses  Elnur Babaev, a former student of the school N165, attended the trial.

During the  trial he rejected his testimony  he gave at the preliminary  trial. In particular, Babayev said he did not see any fights, and  he gave the testimony in the director's office at the dictation of a police officer.

It is noteworthy that the testimony was given by minor in the absence of his parents, and a police officer is obliged to know it.

Other witnesses did not  came to the trial, and the referee decided to forcibly bringing  them on 15 October.

The trial was attended only by the members of the public support group A.Gyulalyev - representatives of the National Council and the Public Alliance “Azerbaijan without political prisoners.”- 06B-
