Baku / 11.03.19 / Turan: On March 11, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes chaired by Irada Hasanzade continued the meeting on the case of the Musavat activist Azad Hasanov.

The state prosecutor Parviz Rzayev spoke at the meeting and reported on the persecution of Hasanov under Art. 234.4.3 (large-scale drug trafficking).

Further, the testimony was made by Hasanov himself. He said that in 2014, he left Azerbaijan with his family and lived in Vilnius. In October 2018, having learned the grave condition of his father, he promptly arrived in Baku.

On the morning of October 11, he immediately came home, after which he visited his uncle, paid respects to his mother"s grave, prayed in a mosque, and returned home.

At 16.00, near the house in the village of Hovsan, he was detained and taken to the Main Police Department of Baku. There they planted drugs on him.

Hasanov said the police made him confess under pressure.

Then, at the trial, the testimony of the metropolitan police officer Elvin Kazymov, who was the head of the operational group that detained the oppositionist, was heard. However, according to the defendant, Kazymov was not the head of the operation.

The trial will continue on March 18.
