Baku/06.01.22/Turan: The State Antimonopoly Supervision Service of Azerbaijan announced the establishment of maximum prices for flour and bread. Thus, the wholesale price for a 50-kg bag of flour has been set at 35.9 manats and the price of 500-gram round bread at 50 gapiks. Also, 650-gram round bread should cost 65 gapiks.
Prices for flour and bakery products have risen in recent days. At the same time, flour and grain importers said they were forced to raise prices because of rise in the selling prices in Russia. A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads. Efforts to extinguish the fire are still ongoing.
