Azerbaijani activists called on the world community to recognize the events in Bucha as genocide
Baku/05.04.22/Turan: The Azerbaijani platform for supporting Ukraine in the name of democracy sharply condemned the massacres of residents of the Ukrainian city of Bucha by the Russian military.
In its address to the world community, the Platform called the events in Bucha a genocide.
“The expulsion of the Russian army from the occupied territories of Ukraine exposed the numerous crimes of the occupying army. Civilians, including women and children, were handcuffed and shot. Entire families were destroyed. The genocide committed by the Russian army in the city of Bucha, Kiev region, is an even larger-scale repetition of the genocide committed by Serbia in Srebrenica,” the appeal says.
The authors note that "Putin's war against Ukraine was a war crime." "Irrefutable evidence against civilians in Bucha, Irpin, Mariupol and other cities proves that the civilian population of the occupied regions of Ukraine was purposefully destroyed by Russian troops," the message continues.
What is happening in Ukraine since February 24, 2022 is what the UN qualifies as genocide.
“All those involved in the genocide of the Ukrainian people, including the direct participants and the Supreme Commander of the Russian Federation, must be identified and committed to an international tribunal,” the appeal continues.
The platform calls on the UN General Assembly, the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to recognize the massacres of civilians on the territory of Ukraine occupied by Russian troops as genocide.
