Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reveals OCG smuggling narcotics from Iran by sea
Baku/24.05.23/Turan: The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry has detained two members of an organized criminal group (OCG), which smuggled drugs into Azerbaijan by sea from the Iranian coast of the Caspian Sea.
Investigative measures were carried out by officers of the Main Anti-Drug Department of the Interior Ministry.
Previously convicted Elshad Aliyev and Zakir Nagiyev, who were organizers of drug trafficking, were detained in Sumgayit.
During a personal search in their possession and in Nagiyev's car 187 kg of drugs (113 kg of marijuana, 37 kg of heroin, 36 kg of methamphetamine, 1 kg of opium and 5.000 pills of methadone M40) were seized.
The investigation found that Aliyev and Nagiyev, in collusion with Iranian citizens known as "Rasul", "Rza" and others, were delivering drugs by boat to Zirya village in Absheron. At the same time, both disguised themselves as fishermen.
On the fact, a criminal case was initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, both were arrested by the court's decision. -05B06-
