Azerbaijani soldier killed on the front in Terter
The Azerbaijani National Army soldier, Private Sarkhan Vagif Oglu Gasimov was killed on Friday at the contact line between Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces as a result of a violation of the ceasefire by the Armenian side.
The soldier was killed in the shelling from the enemy positions in the vicinity of the occupied Azerbaijani village of Chayli in the Terter district.
Private Gasimov, born in 1995, was called up for military service from Agstafa on January 5, 2013, the press service of the Defense Ministry stated.
The Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov for personal gallantry on duty posthumously awarded the medal For Distinguished Service in the Military, the Third Degree to the soldier.
The funeral ceremony, which will be organized on December 28, will be attended by representatives of the military command and units under the leadership of Major-General V. Mammadov, Acting Head of the Moral and Psychological Training and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense.
The Defense Ministry expresses its deepest condolences to the parents and relatives of the serviceman. -06D -
