Bakhtiyar Hajiyev could be charged with hooliganism (UPDATED)

Most likely, Bakhtiyar Hajiyev will be accused of disorderly conduct in the administrative  order. The doucments on it are being prepared, Turan was told by his lawyer Adem Mammadov. August 15  the head of the Institute for Public Policy, a former political prisoner Bakhtiyar Hajiyev  was detained and taken to the 27th police department of Yasamal   district. In a telephone interview with the correspondent of Turan  Hajiyev said that on August 14  his  car was stopped and taken to the penalty area,  and the police officer insulted an activist.

Today Hajiyev again faced the traffic police in front of the  State Statistics Committee. When asking the  question  of Hajiyev  on unjustifiable taking the car, police pounced on Hajiyev, punched, insulted  him, and torn shirt. After that, Hajiyev called the 102 service  of the  Interior Ministry, and  complained to the actions of the police.

"But soon a post-patrol  arrived and picked me up. In the  27th branch  the same police  officer again rushed at me with fists, began to insult. I am currently in the  police office. Documents are being prepared for the submission of the case to court," said Hajiyev.

Bakhtiyar Hajiyev had previously been prosecuted for the socio-political and civic activity. He was convicted on trumped-up charges of evading military service, and sentenced to 3 years for evading military service. International organizations have recognized him "a prisoner of conscience." -03B-
