Baku Court of Appeal today rejected the appeal of the journalist Khadija Ismayilova on the refusal to allow her temporary departure from Azerbaijan.
The ban was introduced due to her conviction. The Azerbaijani Supreme Court replaced the real term on May 25, 2016 to 3.5 suspended sentence, and on August 8, the sentence was reduced to 2 years and 3 months.
On June 28 Ismayilova appealed to the Binagad court with request to grant her permission to temporarily leave the country to participate in international events, and accompany her mother for treatment. However, the court refused. Today the Court of Appeal also rejected her complaint.
