Baku Finds out Information about Victims in Khasavyurt
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moscow specifies information about the victims among citizens of Azerbaijan during the armed attack on a mosque in the Dagestani town of Khasavyurt on August 18. This was said at the briefing of the Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev. According to him, the embassy is in contact with the Interior Ministry to clarify information about the victims.
As Abdullayev noted, according to unconfirmed reports, as a result of the attack, one Azerbaijani citizen was killed and three others wounded.
Earlier media reported one dead and seven wounded citizens of Azerbaijan. -06D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
