Baku mayor's office did not allow anti-Russian picket of APDW
Baku/09.04.22/Turan: Baku executive authorities rejected a notice of the Azerbaijan Party of Democracy and Welfare (APDW) on its intention to hold a picket in front of the Russian Embassy in Baku on 12 April from 3 to 4 p.m.
The action was planned under the slogans: "Stop the war in Ukraine!", "Stop war crimes!", "Russian military, who committed mass murders in Bucha and other places in Ukraine, cannot be peacekeepers!", "The Russian army must be withdrawn from Karabakh!"
However, the mayor's office did not consider it appropriate to hold the picket for epidemiological reasons. The Party believes the arguments of the authorities are not valid, since many restrictions on holding public events due to the pandemic have long been abolished. "How is it that weddings and commemorations involving 300 people can be held indoors, while a picket of 50 protesters cannot be held outdoors? This is the kind of government we have, while the Russian "peacekeepers" improve their positions on the dominant heights, the Russian army kills civilians in Ukraine; our government does not allow a picket in front of the Russian embassy" - the APDW said.
Note that the APDW was created as a movement in 2015. Last year, the organization transformed into a party. It is headed by the scientist-economist Gubad Ibadoglu. -03B06-
