Baku says Kirkorov: "Come on, goodbye"
Concert of popular Russian singer Philip Kirkorov in Baku was cancelled, according to the RIA Novosti, referring to the press-secretary of the singer, Olga Alexeeva. She said that the concert in Baku was to be held on November 8 in the Crystal hall designed for 25,000 people. All tickets had been sold, but suddenly it was announced that the concerts should be canceled due to technical problems.
Crystal Hall is a super-modern concert venue, which opened in May this year. It hosted the "Eurovision" and world stars performed there. Therefore, the technical insolvency is hardly possible, said Alexeeva. "We can only guess what the reasons for this refusal are hiding," she said.
According to one version, the concert organizers complained that Kirkorov’s father, Bedros Kirkorov, has supported 13-year-old Armenian singer Andranik Aleksanyan.
This is not the first failure of Kirkorov’s performance in Baku. According to unofficial data, the authorities are afraid of social unrest due to Armenian origin of the singer’s father. -04D-
