Baku Thanks Moscow for Evacuation of Azerbaijani Citizens from Yemen
A group of Azerbaijani citizens were evacuated from Yemen by the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry planes. According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hikmet Hajiyev, the Azerbaijani side expresses its gratitude to the Russian Federation, noting the role of diplomats and personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Saudi Arabia continues contacts with the Russian side in order to evacuate the remaining Azerbaijani citizens from Yemen.
Turkey has also expressed its readiness to assist the evacuation of Azerbaijani citizens as soon as technical issues are solved and permission to fly is given, Hajiyev said.
Total in Yemen there were 20 Azerbaijani citizens. Most of them are in mixed marriages. At the same time, only 7 Azerbaijani citizens have been registered in the Azerbaijani Embassy.
According to unofficial information, today the number of Azerbaijani citizens evacuated from Yemen does not exceed 8 people. -06D-
