Baku / 30.03.19 / Turan: An activist of the NIDA Mmovement, a former "prisoner of conscience" Bayram Mammadov was detained on Saturday at 04:00 by police officers

when he was walking down the street with his father Farman Mammadov. The activist was first taken to the 12th department of the Sabunchu district police department. Later, his father was told that the young man was taken to the district administration itself. The police office told Turan correspondent that B.Mammadov is not there.

B.Mammadov and Giyas Ibrahimov were detained after writing political slogans on the monument to Heydar Aliyev on May 10, 2016. Both were convicted to 10 years in prison on charges of drug trafficking on a large scale. The human rights organization Amnesty International recognized them as "prisoners of conscience." Both were pardoned on March 16 of this year.
