«Big Data Day Baku 2016» under the sponsorship of Azercell
Azercell Telecom has supported another international forum held in our country. Big data Day Baku 2016 International Forum (BDDB2016) was organized by Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center under the sponsorship of Azercell in Qafqaz University on May 17, 2016. Big Data Day Baku 2016 International Forum dedicated to big data was conducted for the second time in our country. This time, experts from global and local companies such as IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, Azercell and ATL which are famous for their solutions in this field gave lectures in the event held under the slogan of “Get Business Value from Bid Data”.
Imran Baghirov, Head of Strategic Adjacencies and Customer Channels department, delivered presentation on the subject. Imran Baghirov emphasized demand on Big Data in measuring the level of Customer Services and achieving good customer experience practice.
Main purpose of the event is to expand ideas about new opportunities and challenges in the society created by Big Data, share experiences on development of data analysis technologies with business, industrial and state agencies, encourage students and young researchers to make career and researches in Data Science. This event was attended by persons engaged in finance, energy, telecommunication and marketing, as well as businessmen, researches, state officials and students.
It should be mentioned that, international competitions such as Barama Hack Day 2016 , Seedstarts World were organized by Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center under the sponsorship of Azercell. Meanwhile, Azercell supports every event oriented on increasing awareness of youth about ICT and encouraging them to become world-wide experts. Tens of the youth in Barama Innovation Center have been able to present their projects to the world and establish a personal company.

On November 12, the summit of world leaders commenced at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Baku. According to "Euronews," citing sources from the UN, the event is attended by around 100 heads of state.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
