City Police discusses results of the year
On January 23 the Chief Police Department of Baku held an operational meeting on the results of 2014. Speaking at a meeting the chief of police of the capital, Mirgafar Seyidov, said 11,635 crimes were registered, of which 84.6% are less serious, and do not pose much danger to the public.
Compared with the previous period, the number of homicides dropped by 3.4%, an assassination attempt - by 31.8%, rape - by 2.1 times, kidnappings have decreased by six times; 71.7% of crimes were disclosed.
Seyidov reported on the use of modern technology in the investigation and detection of crime, in particular, with the help of cameras.
Last year was delayed by 73% of wanted people, 54 criminal groups were revealed, 59 robberies and burglaries were committed. Also 35 groups that committed 91 burglaries were made harmless.
In the past year, were seized 230 kilo of drugs on 1414 facts.
They confiscated 81 firearms, including 36 machines, 18 pistols, 23 rifles, one grenade launcher, 3 machine guns, grenade 101, 6 rounds, more than 5,000 cartridges. -03D-
