Committee to Protect the Rights of Mahir Abdullayev: He was Kidnapped by Order of Senior Officials
The Committee to protect the rights of the Major of the Ministry of National Security, Mahir Abdullayev (brother of former Rector of the International University Elshad Abdullayev) held a press conference today at the Media Centre.
The head of the social structure of Azad Mursaliyev submitted a report and the site of the Committee to journalists.
The response, prepared by the Public Investigation Group, reads that the kidnapping of Mahir Abdullayev was organized and implemented by a group of high-ranking officials. Many people knew about the crime, but instead of investigate it, authorities blamed and arrested several people who tried to mediate between the kidnappers and the family of Mahir Abdullayev, charging them with fraud.
At the same time, they began persecuting relatives of Abdullayev, by confiscating their property, capturing their business, and banned them from traveling abroad. In addition, law enforcement agencies regularly detain relatives, trying to obtain dirty information on Elshad Abdullayev, the report said.
Azad Mursaliyev noted an interesting detail, that Mahir Abdullayev, kidnapped in 2003 was awarded in June 2004 the rank of lieutenant colonel, by the Minister of National Security, Namik Abbasov.
The fact that 10 years later the crime still remains, means that senior officials have been interested in it.
He also accused the journalist Eynulla Abdullayev for decieiving Abdullayevs’ family. "I told Eynulla 30 discs with video recordings on the kidnapping of Mahir Abdullayev, but he passed the discs to the court. We believed that as a fighter for the truth Eynulla uses these records to expose corruption and crime, and he used them against us," said Mursalov.
In conclusion, he said that in the near future, the Committee will post a video on the Internet of deputy police officer of the Baku airport, Rasim Ildirimzade, who is a close relative of the Interior Minister, Ramil Usubov.
The article contains new evidence about Mahir Abdullayev’s kidnapping, said Mursaliev. -05C-
