Convicted  human rights activist complains about his  health

Fahriya Hasmamedova has addressed in connection with the deterioration of the health of  her convicted husband - Thale Hasmamedov, serving his sentence in the jail  №17. On 3  January  she   with him in prison. "Thale was very restless, feeling bad, the pain did not stop. He said  that he had been examined, and they promised to take him in the near future to the hospital. However, one month has passed,  but he was not transfererd," said Fahriya Hasmamedova Turan agency.

If Thale  is  not  provided necessary care and treatment, it can lead to serious consequences. "We can lose the head of the family",  she said.  The appeal of Thale’s wife was sent to the ICRC, the ombudsman, the Human Rights Working Group. Fahriya Hasmamedova asks all of them to visit her husband in prison.

In turn, Deputy Head of the Main Medical Department of the Penitentiary Service Iftikhar Gurbanov told Turan that her  appeal  witll be  considered.

Thale Hasmamedov is known for exposing corruption and violations by the executive powers of Goychay-Ujar region.  They threatened him  several times demanding to stop  publication. In 2015 he was charged with disorderly conduct, and sentenced to 3 years in prison. -03B04-
