Court Keeps Ikram Rahimov in Custody
Baku / 27.11.18 / Turan: The Sabail District Court of Baku rejected a motion to transfer Ikram Rahimov, editor of the realliq.info website, under house arrest. This was reported to Turan by his relatives.
According to them, Rahimov said at the trial that he had not committed any crime, noting that he did not intend to hide from the investigation and asked to transfer him to house arrest.
Rahimov also indicated that no investigative actions were being carried out against him.
According to his relatives, the court"s decision will be appealed to the appellate court.
Earlier, the State Security Service stated that it had investigated numerous complaints that Rahimov, under the guise of journalist, had extorted money from citizens, threatening to spread defamatory information in the media. As a result of operational activities carried out on the basis of a court decision, Ikram Rahimov"s numerous criminal actions were confirmed, the State Security Service said.
Rahimov was arrested and charged under articles 182.2.1 and 182.2.2 (extortion by threats) .- 06D-

The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
