Court Lifts Ban on Foreign Travel for Azer Gasymly
Baku / 12.07.19 / Turan: On July 12, the Nasimi district court decided to lift the ban on leaving the country for the head of the Majlis of the REAL party Azer Gasymly
Turan was told by Gasymly himself.
According to him, the trial, chaired by Judge Babek Panahov, lasted only 3 minutes.
As a result, the judge lifted the ban on Gasymly leaving abroad, introduced by the Investigation Department for Serious Crimes of the Prosecutor General's Office three years ago.
According to Gasymly, the court declared the prohibition of the prosecutor"s office "illegal."
"This was the fifth trial in this case. Each time the representatives of the prosecutor's office did not appear in court. They did not come today. But the judge decided to conduct the trial. The decision of the court pleasantly surprised me," said Gasymly.
The prosecutor's office motivated the ban by a certain criminal case in which the name Gasymly allegedly appeared. "However, at the same time, we could not clarify with the prosecutor"s office when and under what article the case was initiated," Gasymly said.
In December 2018, the ECHR satisfied the complaint of Gasymly in connection with the ban on foreign travel.
But until today, the decision of the ECHR has not been implemented. -21B--
