Court of Appeal Leaves NIDA Activist Detained
The Baku Court of Appeal today rejected the appeal against the decision of the Narimanov Court for the arrest of the NIDA activist Rahim Veliyev.
The young man was arrested on January 16 for 30 days on charges of not subordinating the police.
According to the lawyer Elchin Sadigov, the judge also dismissed a petition to inform the prosecutor's office in connection with a complaint of torture.
The lawyer said he will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
In the NIDA movement they believe the young person is being persecuted for criticizing the authorities on Facebook. -03B-
